Cristy Burne is an Author, Editor and Science Writer. She is passionate about sharing her love for science, technology, engineering, arts
and maths (STEMy!). She has a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, a Graduate Diploma in Science Communication, and a Masters in Professional Communication.
Cristy has worked as a past editor of CSIRO’s Scientriffic magazine for kids, was a regular contributor to Double Helix mag for kids/teens and has worked as a science writer at CERN in Switzerland.
Cristy aims to use her talks and workshops to capture young readers’ attention and direct them towards the magic, wonder and creativity of science and
technology. Her belief is that we all need to learn to think critically and creatively, to solve problems in new and innovative ways and believes science
is a great way to teach these skills. Cristy regularly presents at Writer’s festivals and her positive personality and interactive presentations keep
her audience engaged, interested, laughing, learning and enthused. You’ll have fun!!
