James Phelan is the award winning and bestselling author of twenty-nine novels and one work of non-fiction. From his teens he wanted to be a novelist but first tried his hand at studying and working in architecture before turning to writing, spending five years at The Age newspaper, and obtaining an MA (writing) and PhD (YA literature). He has written five geo-political thrillers featuring ex-Australian Navy operative turned investigative reporter Lachlan Fox, the Alone trilogy of YA post-apocalyptic novels, and the 6-book Jed Walker series of suspense thrillers. James has also written a 13-book adventure series for Scholastic, titled The Last Thirteen.
