Louise Park draws from a strong background in education and literacy to produce blockbuster bestselling book series that include Zac Power Test Drives and Spy Recruit, Boy vs Beast, Star Girl, Bella Dancerella, Harriet Clare and D-Bot Squad. Originally a teacher, Louise has written more than 80 trade titles for children. In 2013, her books dominated the top ten slots on the children’s charts when she held eight of the ten most coveted positions in publishing.

Louise co-writes with fellow author Susannah MacFarlane under the hugely successful pseudonym Mac Park. She also writes independently under the pseudonyms, H. I. Larry and Poppy Rose.

Dinosaurs, beasts and boy spies; space agents, ballerinas and secret diaries: building worlds, characters and adventures Louise shares where she gets inspiration for her series fiction that includes D-Bot Squad, Zac Power Spy Recruit, Harriet Clare and Bella Dancerella and Boy vs Beast. She will share how she creates memorable worlds and characters, and builds drama and tension. Students will even get a sneak peek of the creative process for her current work in progress. This session includes a talk, a reading and plenty of audience participation. Grades 1-4

Workshop:

The emotional narrative structure—character journey. This session focusses on the importance of a character’s inner journey. Taught through comparative analysis/references from The Hunger Games Book 1, students will learn this critical. alternative narrative structure. Grades 5-8
