Samantha Wheeler worked with farmers and taught science before turning to writing in 2011. Packed with animals and adventure, her children’s books which
include Smooch and Rose, Spud and Charlie, Wombat Warriors and Turtle Trackers, have been shortlisted
for the Queensland Literary Awards and the Wilderness Society Environmental Awards.
Samantha’s novel Everything I Never Said is based on her experiences of having a daughter with Rett Syndrome, a rare condition
which has left her unable to talk or communicate. This inspiring book addresses a subject rarely tackled – young people with disabilities and the families
who love and support them.
Passionate and engaging, Samantha loves to share her passion for conservation and animals with students and hopes her stories will inspire everyone to
make a difference.
