Write Here Now

An interactive community literature and photographic project

Write Here Now Wrap Up

Nicole Hatfield - Wednesday, July 17, 2013
On Tuesday, day three at Caneland Shopping Centre, saw Jeremy and I put some life into the project so far and start forming the photos into identifiable parts.

Over 120 photos have been taken of both Mackay’s residents, and the transient community in the area, and over 50 pages of content have been created for the publication.

The photos have begun to be printed and spliced up into 2 centimeter strips to rearrange and create mash up images of the current population.

Participants to the project have been focusing the writing and design element around their experiences of Mackay, which could include anything from venues they love, things they’d change and what it feels like to be part of this community.

It is our last day in Caneland today with the project before move on to the Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival in the park, bringing with us the bike trailer pop up venue we built with the assistance of crowd funding platform Pozible.
