Kirli Saunders (OAM) is a proud Gunai Woman, award-winning multidisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter and author of nine books. She aims to connect and inspire change and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 2022 for her contribution to the arts. Kirli’s books, including Beyond the Shore, Eclipse, Afloat and The Land Recalls You, have been recognised by major literary awards, including the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and the CBCA.
Her festival sessions blend storytelling, poetry and music, sharing First Nations culture and creativity while encouraging students to explore language, connection and self-expression through the arts.
