Dear Teachers, Librarians and Budding Writers,

Whitsunday Voices invites students to submit entries to our annual Short Story Competition, providing a platform for imagination, expression and literacy for entrants across the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regions. Entry is free, and there are fantastic prizes to be won thanks to our generous sponsors, Thiess.

Eligibilty

The competition is open to students wo currently reside in the Mackay, Whitsunday or Isaac regions.

Entries received from outside these regions will not be eligible for judging.

Entry Guidelines

Submissions are accepted online only via the Entry Form & Guidelines.

All entries must adhere to the guidelines outlined on the Entry Form.

Entries will be judged by a panel of representatives from our Short Story Partner, James Cook University.

File Naming

For judging purposes, anonymity is essential. Please ensure student names do not appear in the story or file name.

Stories should be saved using the following format:
GRADE_STORY TITLE

Example:
GRADE 4_My Brown Dog
